BSc (Hons) Psychology: Course Structure & Content
The BSc (Hons) Psychology is a three year full-time
programme divided into 6 semesters of 12 weeks. The four year
Integrated BSc Psychology includes a Foundation Year, bringing the course to a
total of 8 semesters.
Students will be in class three days per week (10am-5pm).
There are assessment periods at the end of the
terms and at the end of the year. The BSc programme comprises the
equivalent of 360 credits spread across a series of modules, and
comprising 120 credits at each level. Students will be awarded a
BSc Hons in Psychology after completing the entire programme and
successfully completing all necessary assessment.

Course Content
Year 1
Students take all core modules in the first year. These modules
form the essential basis for further study.
Year 2
Students take the required core modules which build on the
previous year as well as preparing for the all important final year
and its research project. There is also a choice of one option
(e.g. Psychopathology or Psychology of Sport &
Performance).
Year 3
The completion of a research project is a core compulsory
component; as are modules in Positive Psychology and Cultural
Psychology. In addition, students choose 2 modules from a
series of exciting options - possible options are Psychology of
Human Sexuality & Gender, Crime & Punishment, Music
Psychology or Health Psychology.
In its final year the BSc represents ‘London’ in the selection
of options that students may choose from in any one year:
Psychology of Film & Theatre, Psychology of Fashion, Psychology
of Peace, Conflict and the Environment are just a few examples of
what may be on offer.
The selection available will vary in any given year depending on
specialist staff availability.
