Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy
Entry Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of either the taught components of
SPCP’s MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling, or an equivalent
Masters level professional training in
psychotherapy/counselling/counselling psychology
- Interest and basic understanding of existential philosophy
- Good working knowledge of existential psychotherapy and
counselling (equivalent to two modules or one third of a
Masters)
- Willingness to further develop one's philosophy of
psychotherapy and to remain critical and open about it
- Evidence of an ability to be self-reflective with openness and
originality and to be able to function effectively and ethically
under pressure
- Emotional maturity demonstrating a flexible and open attitude
to a wide range of life experience
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 100 client contact
hours in a formal clinical placement
- Completion of a minimum of two years’ regular individual
psychotherapy
- If English is not your first language, you must provide an
IELTS score of at least 6.5, or a TOE FL score of at least 90
(internet-based test), 575 (paper test) or 233 (computer test)
