Foundation in Psychology: Entry Requirements
To enter the Integrated Foundation Course at SPCP, students
should have the following:
Academic Requirements
- Five GCSE/IGCSE subjects or equivalent with grades A-C,
including Maths and English
- US High School Diploma with a 2.5 GPA
- HAVO
- Six WAECs with grades A-C (1-6)
- Realschulabschluß
- Apolytirion of Gymnasio
- Attestat
- Bachillerato (from Central and South America)
Or other international qualifications equivalent to the British
General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSEs), as recommended
by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre
(NARIC).
Applicants deemed suitable for the course may be
invited for interview.
European Union/European Economic Area Nationals
For students who are nationals of the EU/EEA countries and
English is not their native language, we require one the following
qualifications*:
- IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5
- TOEFL with 74 points in the internet-based test, 203 in the
computer-based version.
- Cambridge Advanced English Certificate (grades A-C)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (grades A-C)
- Pearson Test of English with 42 points
- GCSE/IGCSE English Grade C or above
- Grade 5 in the IB English HL
- English C of the Avgangsbetyg with a VG or MVG English grade 5
or 6 in the Vitnemål
- 75% overall in all English components of the European
Baccalaureate EIKEN English test - Grade Pre 1
*This requirement may be waived if the last three years of the
student's education were in English. SPCP reserves the right to
request an English proficiency certificate at our discretion.

Nationals please contact the Admissions Department on spc@regents.ac.uk.
Applications are processed by the Admissions Team within the
External Relations Department. They are assessed according to the
above criteria, and subject to the assessment and approval of the
Course Leader.
The typical applicant will normally have reached their 18th
birthday at the start of the course and be able to demonstrate an
interest in, and commitment to Psychology. The Course particularly
welcomes applications from mature students.
Applications from students with physical disabilities are also
welcomed; individual support and needs will be identified in
conjunction with the College Disability Officer, Programme Director
and Course Leader.
