Foundation in Psychology
Entry Requirements
Applications are invited from students who can demonstrate that
they have the following:
- A degree of personal maturity consistent with the demands of a
competitive programme of this type
- The motivation and potential to proceed on to and succeed in
Psychology at Degree level (or a related discipline)
PLUS
- GCSE Grade C Maths and English or international
equivalents
OR
- The full International, European or Welsh Baccalaureate
- Other qualifications as deemed acceptable by the College
OR
- Relevant work experience (eg. nursing, sports coaching,
teaching assistant, performing arts, international business)
Applicants deemed suitable for the course will be
invited for interview.
Where an applicant's first language is not English, evidence of
at least Level 5.5 attainment in the International English Language
Testing Scheme (IELTS), and/or a Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 (paper test) or 213
(computer test), or a clear pass in the College's own English
Language Proficiency Test.
Applications are processed by the Admissions Team within the
External Relations Department. They are assessed according to the
above criteria, and subject to the assessment and approval of the
Course Leader.
The typical applicant will normally have reached their 18th
birthday at the start of the course and be able to demonstrate an
interest in, and commitment to Psychology. The Course particularly
welcomes applications from mature students.
Applications from students with physical disabilities are also
welcomed; individual support and needs will be identified in
conjunction with the College Disability Officer, Programme Director
and Course Leader.
