Qualities & Quality in
Qualitative Research Methodology Seminar
Presented by Dr Rosalind
Pearmain
Thursday, 30 April 2009, 5.30pm - 7.00pm at Regent's
College
One of the main purposes in employing qualitative methodology is
to obtain vivid and direct subjective experience for analysis yet
this is often lacking in what comes out in the interview. This
seminar will explore how to facilitate more experiential
exploration with interview subjects. It will also propose some
tools for researchers to use in their reflection on the meanings
emerging from participants’ communication.
- This workshop will offer practical tools to try out in
interviews that could encourage more evocative language and lived
experience to emerge.
- It will also consider how the researcher immerses themselves
within data in order to synthesise new understanding to emerge from
nuance and qualities within the text
