BSc (Hons) Psychology with Integrated Foundation
Course Structure
The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Integrated Foundation is
a four year full-time programme. Year one has three terms
and years 2-4 are organised over 6 semesters each of 12
weeks.
Students will be in class three days per week
(10:00am-5:00pm)
Year One: Integrated foundation
The underlying aim of the first year is to provide a challenging
yet enjoyable overview of many aspects of psychology and gradually
introducing theoretical, methodological and practical elements.
This provides students with the basic tools and understanding
required for the subsequent years of the degree.
Holistic Approach to Psychology
Students will also cover applied psychologies, statistics,
research methods and topics drawn from counselling and
psychotherapy. This provides a holistic approach to psychology -
rather than focusing on one particular area of school of
thought.
Time is given to essential study skills, supervised study and
the potential to explore topics in a freer non-pressured
environment within group tutorials.
As a student centred course, all students are offered pastoral
support from a personal tutor as well as the opportunity to contact
individual academics.
With an innovative and wide ranging syllabus and small
class sizes the programme aims to attract a diverse student body
from varying backgrounds and levels of experience.
The school facilitates and nurtures an atmosphere of
intrinsic motivation, mutual understanding and support within a
professional and responsible environment.
