Biography

Desa is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and supervisor and BASRT accredited psychosexual therapist with extensive experience of working as a member of multidisciplinary teams in a broad range of mental health contexts and with twenty years of experience of teaching psychotherapy courses at PGDip and MSc levels; she has held various senior management and leadership positions in training institutes, including Assistant Director at Institute of Family therapy, Senior Practice Consultant at Relate and Senior tutor at Kensington Consultation Centre.

In Family therapy up to Doctorate level
IFT (Institute of Family Therapy) 2000-2004 developed and chaired Management course MSc

Currently supervising a thesis on Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology

Psychosexual therapy; Case Studies in Couple and Family therapy; Qualitative research methods, in particular Discourse Analysis, Narrative Analysis and Case Study
