Biography

Jennifer has extensive experience of lecturing, tutoring, mentoring and supervising students of all ages, at all levels from Foundation to Postgraduate.   A former Open University tutor, she has also taught Psychology at Middlesex University, the University of Westminster and the London School of Economics.   She has a strong research background, having spent several years as a Research Associate at the University of London Institute of Education, conducting systematic reviews of research on social issues, health and education.  Jennifer takes a personal interest in helping each student to achieve his or her academic and professional goals.   She is a published writer (fiction and non-fiction) with a special interest in helping students to develop their academic writing skills.

She is currently teaching Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Counselling Psychology on the new Foundation Course in Psychology at Regent’s College and is looking forward to teaching on the new B.Sc. Psychology  from October 2011.  As an Academic Research Supervisor, she is currently working with three DCounsPsy students and will become an Internal Examiner in 2011.

Currently supervising three DCounsPsy students at Regent's College.  Recently appointed as Internal Examiner for doctoral students at Regent's College.

Research Interests

  • Main areas of interest and expertise are in social and developmental psychology, especially ethnic and religious identity in adolescence and emerging adulthood
  • restorative justice
  • conflict resolution
  • youth offending
  • interpretative phenomenological analysis.

Completed Research:

  • Numerous systematic reviews of research in social science health and education. PhD (Social Psychology; M.Sc. (Developmental Psychology).
