Biography

Dr Gkouskos has worked in NHS settings, Greek private mental health settings and his own private practice. He has also taught and supervised in Counselling Psychology Masters programmes at a Greek College and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He is particularly interested in the integration of psychotherapeutic approaches in the practice of counselling psychology, in commonalities and differences between psychotherapeutic approaches at the levels of epistemology, theory, technique and clinical practice, in clinical supervision and in adult attachment and romantic relationships. 


Course Development

Dr Gkouskos has contributed in the development of the new professional doctorate in counselling psychology.

In the past, he has also developed and taught courses on Humanistic and Psychodynamic Approaches to Counselling, Principles of Counselling and Personal Development, Crisis Intervention, and Diversity Issues in Counselling in Different Settings.

He is currently supervising four trainees for their doctoral thesis and he has examined one doctoral thesis as an internal examiner.
