Biography
Filia is the Pathway Leader for the BA in Psychology of Webster
University. She is an Organisational Psychologist, and began her
academic career through lecturing at Monash University, Australia.
Filia also has several years of industry experience in
organisational settings, in training, recruitment, and professional
development functions.
Filia has submitted her PhD research on the cognitive and
emotional states of individuals as encapsulated by self-regulation
theory, and how these states influence individuals’ expectations
and experiences of future events. Her further research interests
include implicit and ambivalent emotions, the self,
self-regulation, optimism, and expectations in workplace and health
contexts.
At Regent’s College Filia teaches Applied and Social Psychology
across Foundation and Undergraduate levels. Filia is also involved
in Research Committee of the college, and is playing an active role
in the development of a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and
Learning.
